DF's great weekly update reminds me to remind you that we are approaching end of week 1 in our August process. And things are starting to look interesting this week!

Just add any nominations to the list above - easiest method I think is to quote the relevant last message with the current list in it, delete out the information not needed (such as the last posters name etc) and then add your new nomination to the bottom, and post! Easy!!

I know George won with Charlie Broom but Broom is so much higher ranked it doesn't seem the same somehow, and Charlie got knocked out in singles so I'm just going for George

2. Luke Simkiss - for reaching the final of Roehampton 25k beating players 1000 places higher in the rankings

3. George Houghton - for winning the 25k doubles title at Roehampton AND making the semis in singles, despite being ranked only 1338

4. Giacomo Revelli - for winning the 15k Spain doubles title. He's only 21, is only ranked 1679 in dubs, had never made a final before .....

Thanks CD and agree totally with the George logic! And good to see both on the list that you added, although I really know very little about Revelli!

I think Evo might deserve one also but suspect we should see where the weekend takes us!

For all - this month covers the next three weeks also, so both masters series weeks in Canada and Cinci, and US open qualies week as well

One singles title may not merit player of the month on its own, but after all she's been through Katy deserves a nomination for winning at Foxhills with a consitent rise back up the rankings over the last few weeks.

You never know - I think of the nominations as a shout out for a job well done during the month - you never know where other players months will take them and whilst usually the bar goes quite high, it all depends - a nomination is a little round of applause and a handshake , lets see if its enough for the bottle of champagne in three weeks time!

Tempted to nominate Evo based on those 4 mins of highlight reel against Tiafoe, but let's see how far he goes first.

I think Dan will be on the list regardless of the final result , its just what the narrative ends up saying !
