Any reason she shouldnt ? She would be a high seed and a good chance to keep moving forward with her ranking and automatic entry to the us open

Her instagram has her enjoying life in London yesterday. Unless it was delayed posting.

Would be a great chance for a big title this week and cement a top 100 place.

Only that our girls make a habit of entering these sorts of tournaments and then dropping out at the last minute (like Heather above).  I agree this would be a good one for her as you say, but personally I'll be surprised (but delighted) if she turns up.

They met in 2021 with Emilie winning 5 & 3

Whereas you get the likes of Liam Broady who is already in the US competing in his next tournament. Our ladies dont seem to put as much into it then some of our men it has to be said.

They do have a right to take a break. Theyve had 6 weeks on the trott on the grass.

I think some of our girls are having a couple of weeks off before heading to the states for a big block.

It's not a particularly strong entry, with Jodie top seed if she plays. 140 points for the winner, which would represent a rise of 20 places in the rankings. Loads of points at this level.

Talking of which, Arantxa Rus, who lost 2R qualifying at Wimbledon, ended up gaining 250 ranking points (more than 4th round at Wimbledon) after winning titles at a W40 and WTA125 event. She also won a WTA125 event before Wimbedon, so now stands at No. 62 in the rankings, just one below her career high.

250 points. Watson, Dart and Swan are 250 points short of automatic entry to the US Open.

They will have to go through qualifying.

They need to ensure that they are up to 95th before the Aussie open. The cut off of which is December 5th.

Broady is 122 points away.
Choinski is 217 points away.

Broady has 135 to defend so 257 to get.

Choinski is defending 201 so needs 428. Tough.

Dart is defending 194 so needs 446. Eesh.

Swan is defending 278 so needs 528, but she did that from very few events so clearly is decent on Hard.

Boulter showed earlier this year how sensible selection of events can see a very quick accumulation of points. Murray may look back in hindsight and think that if he had have played at (I think it was) Eastbourne instead of Queens he would have ended up seeded.

It feels like with £55k for losing in the first round, the benefits of just qualifying for the Aussie open outweigh the costs incurred in getting there.

Burrage and Boulter are defending very few points this side of Christmas and should be really able to make quick gains up the rankings.
