Im going for wins for Katie B, Harriet and Jodie. Katie Bs draw particularly good as Bernarda Pera is the the seed in the next round who I dont think is up to much on grass.

Katie S can give Belinda a good game. Kartal and Watson have very tough draws. Im going for 3 out of 6.

Tennis abstract gives Sonay more of a chance to win than Swan. Only slightly, but am I missing something?

Bencic has only played once since 9th April and that was a first round loss at the French Open. She is probably more vulnerable in the first round than Keys, who is having a good run at Eastbourne right now.

Katie B probably and Harriet possibly. Others no real chance!

Keys has beaten Gauff today in the SF at Eastbourne. Mind you, it looks very windy which can be a great leveller.

I'm going for Boulter, Dart and Burrage but also fear we could just see Boulter going through.
Never let it be said a Grand Slam was easy.

It's worth remembering that we were all a bit worried about how many points they all had to defend this year, and pretty much all of the top 5 have defended or improved their point total. Hoping for wins, but this has been a good grass court season, and I expect 2/3 in the top 100 this year.

For our GB women, this is their moment in the sun, so I'm sure they'll all be up for the fight, and on the day maybe even singing Bachman Turner Overdrive's little ditty, quietly to themselves.

Very true I expected some significant drops in ranking.

Feel for Heather, she could really do with the points and she's not really got a chance.

Hopefully Harriet and Boults can do the business. I think Katie S has a chance as Bencic has been out a while. Jodie really who knows, it's not the easiest draw - she could win a tough one or lose in 50minutes.

Doubles draws are a mixed bag. Opportunities for Emily/Jodie and Ali/Freya definitely.

I've started a separate thread for the doubles now

Has Bencic been injured since the FO? If Katie is on form she could have a slight chance of getting in the face of a Bencic lacking match practice on grass (and generally).

I think Katie B should hope to win that, and a decent shot for Harriet. I can't see Sonay, Heather, or (sadly) Jodie winning theirs.
