Week 26 - Wimbledon Ladies Qualifying

Castle picks out random Asian woman in sunglasses in the crowd and asks if it's Hsieh... despite the fact she's about to play. GIVE ME STRENGTH.

He also said that she had lost despite her match not even starting yet

Bai is an excellent player. Anna playing well, but her opponent looks very composed.

Anna is really nervous. Can see the tension in her swing. Has to dig in and keep this tight in the second. Bai playing good tennis.

Bai's length has been excellent. She might have only hit one or two balls long in the match

Such a shame. Anna not doing herself justice here at all and it's going to be over very quickly. Bai better than I expected but you can see the confidence has sapped away, she shouldn't have been broken at the start of this set with plenty of game points and it was just such a killer blow.

0-4*

No point sugar coating it, Anna was very poor today but that shouldn't take away from a fantastic 3 days. Two superb wins where she played great tennis, and showed what she is capable of

This will sting like hell, but will provide excellent motivation for the rest of the year I am sure. She won't want to feel how she does right now again, and hopefully the money helps give her a little breathing room with her planning too.

Once the dust settles she should be very proud of what she achieved this week.

Yes, it was poor. And it wasn't that Bai was that good, either, IMO.

But, as you say, a very good week.

Such a shame I think Anna was a bit jaded today the two big wins looked to have taken it out of her but a good platform to show she can play with the top end ITF players. Hopefully push on into the top 300 this year shes got the game for it.

Hes a horrible man is Castle no redeeming features in his analysis. Why was he picked over others for a womens match. Laura or Naomi etc would have done so much better. In fact anyone would.

I nearly punched my iPad off the table when he said nobody cares about someone making the FQR they have to make the main draw. What a prat. He then finished by making a comment about the average British wage. Get him off our TV!

Wickmayer has made it through qualifying so has her prizemoney AND 30 points. Still four matches going on, three of which may give the players to join Tauson in the lucky loser draw (Townsend, Yuan and Stefanini).

An enthralling match between Stefanini and Hseih sullied slightly by Hseih taking a MTO at 9-9* in the final set breaker after saving two match points.

Doesn't feel right.
