I think we could do with an a women's ITF grass tournament this week in addition to WTA Nottingham 250 to give other players a further week on grass. Say an ITF W25 or W40.

Maybe indeed a combined men's and women's 25K.

Not sure if there is an appropriate grass court venue over and above the other GB grass season venues?

Manchester was in this week for a few years as a 100k so could no doubt be repurposed.

Yes, I kind of recall this. Maybe W100 a bit too high a level for a second tournament but I still think a lower level ITF women's tournament would be quite appropriate. With the guys we do seem to have managed to go quite far down the rankings in the Nottingham Challenger with the help of WCs.

I think this is a really good idea

It seems a shame that players like Marni and Maia and Alice and others who played very well at Surbiton have no forum for their tennis this week (as well as others who didn't even make Surbiton)

Is the Venus and svitolina wildcards actually reported somewhere ?

Venus and Svitolina are WCs in 's-Hertogenbosch. They'll be WCs in Birmingham.

Sakkari, Haddad Maia, Boulter and Swan are the WCs for Nottingham.

I can't see either Svitolina or Venus in the Nottingham draw

Did you not read the bit you quoted!
