Based on the bit I saw, I don't see Eden getting much further.

Unless she's had a niggle, bit of a mystery why she's gone for this run on clay and skipped the Nottingham swing where she was successful last year. She didn't play a single clay match last year in her most successful year.

Wow hadn't realised Tessah was down outside the top 400 these days.

Yes. Yet another French 'starlet' that hasn't quite produced.....

But well done Eden - 6-3 6-4

And some decent play out there.

Nice win.

I'll always have a soft spot for Tessah. Last year at Wimbledon qualifying she ignored the player restaurant after her defeat and stood in line for a burger and chips at a stand with myself and some of the other riff raff.

The burger and chips regime might be one reason her tennis is not really firing on all cylinders - not sure it's on the FFT healthy living sheet smile

But, yes, she seems a really nice down-to-earth person, very 'south of france', very family based, I've known her (not well, but watched her play, seen her folks) since she was about 12 or so. She's a good sort.

Eden might not have a great results sheet either, of course, but there's certainly nothing in Rinaldo Persson's to be scared of

She's playing 25k level, making the second round or the QF at best. Often winning in three sets.

She needed a MTB to beat Eva Shaw, and three sets to beat Alice Gillan. And is at her CH now.

Looks a lovely sunny day up there.

Currently a break a piece.

Eden 4-3*
