Another tough draw for Emma. Whilst she would have to play a seed in the second round anyway, it just happens to Swiatek rather than any of the other 31 seeds.

Emma needs some competitive but winnable matches to build up her match sharpness but its not happening. cry

I don't think we can take it for granted that Emma will make it to R2.

Good for Jodie giving the clay a go.

I would be rather surprised if anyone was. But here's hoping ...

The odds are minimal but I always like to think of these types of draws as oppotunities for a best win of the year type thing.  it rarely comes off but, it can happen and if it dosen't....well its a free hit isn't it!

Live coverage on Bet365 (and probably elsewhere), but not on Prime.

Jodie battles through some long tough games to take a 4-0* lead.

She's not exactly adapting her game to the surface, but the depth and power is too much for her opponent and she's being nice and patient before trying to pull the trigger.

Not done yet, the Spaniard is actually far more in this set than the previous one

Easy win 6-3 6-1

I actually think Jodie's style will suit clay

Jodie wins 6-3 6-1 probably plays Errani next.

That's an impressive scoreline, I thought it'd be the other way around. Her opponent has won a 25k and made another 2 25ks finals on clay this year. She also qualified for Bogota - so clearly loves clay.
