Week 14 – WTA250 – Bogota, Columbia – Clay

This win should see Fran jump over 400 places into the top 400.

Fran is out hitting her opponent. If she could cut out the double faults, Fran would be back towards her CH very quickly.

Her DFs were much fewer in this match. 0 aces, 3 DFs ( 0 in set 2 ) vs Pigossi's 4 aces, 4 DFs.

In R1 Fran had 6 aces, 14 DFs and in R2 2 aces, 10 DFs

Great result! How long until bbc sport tennis page notices? Obviously have put Dan's results and reports on last couple of days but nothing else. Considering amount of footy on, mens and womens plus cricket, rugby golf etc they put hardly any tennis on. I don't see why they can't put even a round up of lower level tournament successes as well. It's only typing out a few words. Any of the regulars on here could probably do it in 10 minutes each day.

Thrilled for Fran. And her supportive family. Seen them at matches and they seem wonderfully encouraging.

Don't they just !

And I also remember one interview a while back where Fran said she didn't really do social media, she thinks kids are way too fixated on their social media accounts, they forget to develop real social skills, and that her parents used to take her out to restaurants from an early age and expect her to behave and make conversation smile

Well done, Mr and Mrs Jones !

Presumably a bigger challenge coming up against Tatiana Maria, but do we dare to dream? Could Fran win the whole thing?

She'd only go and secure entry into French Open qualifying if she did    Though how is she on clay?

Now on bbc sport, so didn't take too long. Did one of us give them a nudge?

This tournament was on clay, I believe it is her favourite surface.

Fran beat the number 3 seed so maybe the number two is not out of reach. The number one seed went out early on.
