Week 11 - ITF M25 - Trimbach, Switzerland (indoor carpet)

QR1:  (qWC) Leo Galliano (SUI) UNR vs (q16) Ying Hou UNR

For once, Ying will not be ploughing a lone furrow:  Charlie Broom & Anton M should be in the main draw.

Im interested to see Anton in this, especially with the draw. Its really tough but anton has been on reasonable form this year (especially compared to last year) and Id like to see where he is now against essentially a challenger level player.

I guess that was always likely to be the answer unfortunately - a fairly routine looking loss.

The signs of better form are still too rare to expect better just now. But hopefully that will come in time.

Yes, would be good to see Anton get drawn against your average 400-500 sort of guy

After all, Anton wasn't beating guys ranked 200 even when he was playing full-time and completely committed

But if he is now (full-time and completely committed), he should be able to work his way back up reasonably well, especially if he gets a few more bog standard draws

Charles served for that match.

And should have won it.

He reckoned he had a few bad lines calls, and lost his cool completely over one of them - actually, that was the only one I really saw and I think Charlie was wrong - but it was an important point and, coming after the two other ones, I think it was the tension talking, really, not the facts.

Still should have won it...

At what point does Ying Hou give up and consider a career in modelling or being a househusband?
