I pretty sure Girona is clay, not hard.  It is slighly unusual to make the switch from indoor hard to outdoor clay without a week to acclimatise.

Interesting from Liam, hes maybe wanting to hit the clay early whilst others are in America. Makes sense to start with weaker challengers and work up from there.

 He is down for Marrakech ATP250 the following week; but at alt 30 - presumably he will hope to get into qualies and a match or two in Girona will help prep him (or a good week in Girona and he doesnt need to head across the water).
