Stu Fraser's preview of the match in today's Times.  There's a couple of paragraphs about Emma's match against Beatriz Haddad Maia, "the world N° 13 from POLAND" ( disbelief )!  There's also a very brief reference at the end to Cam's win against Daniel, while Arthur Féry gets an honourable mention as "the next best player aged 21 or under from these shores" after Jack.

Good article Stircrazy, thanks for sharing.  Dont worry about the "world 13 from Poland", its just a typo, we all do them.

Does this mean that we may see posts from "Bob in Poland" soon?

I see Cam vs Andy is in the early hours of tomorrow cry

Could be interesting - but they are in opposite sides of the draw and can only meet in the final !

You meant Jack of course.

 Oops so I did!!

What a final that would be!

Yes projected for one in the morning so no way I can watch it. I'm gutted.

Yep me too Neil, gutted at the scheduling of the match. It was hard for me to tell the other day whether Jack was holding a tennis racquet in his hand or a magician's wand. Who knows, we could be about to see the passing of a torch.....

Ive got a relatively easy day tomorrow (today??) so have decided to go for it.!

Good match with some decent tennis from both - Jack served for the first set at 5-4. Hed definitely had the best of the play up until then but he tensed up and dropped serve to love. So its now 5-5 with Murray serving - game on!

Some brutal rallies and a 12 minute game and Andy holds on to now lead 6-5*. First set could go either way now.

Looked like Jack was going to square the match easily but Andy engineered a set point. Jack saved it with an ace, Andy then hit the tape and then an outrageous pick up from Jack and its now 6-6.

Some great points towards the end of the tie-break and Jack eventually takes it 8-6.
First set took an hour and 23 minutes - hopes of getting to bed anytime soon look slim!!
Another comeback needed if Andy wants to win this now.

Hold on though - Jacks right thigh being heavily strapped

The strapping doesnt seem to be impeding Jack at all at the moment and its 2-2 second set

Jack holds serve and then breaks to 15 so he is now leading *4-2

Jacks leg now seems to be causing him some problems but he saves 2 break points. Andy hits a screamer but then a solid volley from Jack to make it 5-2.
More treatment for Jack - taping on leg now removed so not sure what that means. Not sure Andy is fully fit either at this point.

Jack wins 7-6 6-2.

Fantastic first set and poor second set. Andy had it for the taking end of first with that set point but some great net play from Jack made the difference. Second set was so flat from both Andy would have won I think had he broke back with the two break points at 4-2.

Jack was 0-40 on Andys serve but ended up winning the game and wins 7-6 (6), 6-2. Sadly Andy double faulted on match point. Lovely exchange at the end between the two and yes feels like this is a bit of a passing on of the baton
