Thanks very much for all the overnight reporting, kundalini. Taking no prisoners as ever.
Ditto
I particularly like the summaries at the end of the set or the game, as well as a point reporting
Gives a good flavour if you're in a rush and haven't got time to read it all till later
We can analyse the girls inside out and backwards but there's a lot of variables, otherwise tennis wouldn't be fun, and all one can hope is that Katie S and Katie B manage a tournament where they're well and uninjured start to end ! And maybe even for the week after.......AND without pharmaceutical sticking plasters.....
Harsh comments on Jodie. She's just come back from 6 weeks injury and playing someone higher ranked than she is. She probably needs to drop a level to get some game time

Well I said I'd be a bit disappointed if all 4 GB women didn't go through and in the cold light of day I'm am a bit disappointed.
Not sure what happened to Harriet but that looks a bad loss and a big dent to her ranking defending 150 points.
Jodie is obviously coming back from a longish lay off but doesn't sound like she played very well.
I think both Katies have a chance though obviously tougher this time round. Will Tsurenko even make it onto court? She is vey injury prone as gameover states.
Hopefully both our women can qualify and stay fit and healthy.

I do think 4 wins ( and 4 losses ) waa always unlikely. They were all winnable matches yes but also all loseable.
All 4 may want to be top 100 but as you said yourself earlier these are the level of opponents that they need to be consistently beating to gain a firm hold on tha top 100. But in general they don't consistently beat them hence why they are not top 100 and why for me a full haul was so unlikely.

A good performance from Katie, defended well at times, better first serve percentage today. Dalma was erratic, most of the brilliant shots came from Galfi - astonishing spell to save 4 mps and a couple of sensational low volleys, as did the vast majority of the awful ones, typically forehands that landed miles long or wide. Looking at the stats, both players may feel they could have done better returning 2nd serve.

Well done Katie(s)! If I recall Katie S is good friends with Dalma as they were top juniors together, a little cohort that have struggled to break through fully.
