Australia always have a grass itf this time of year, although it's in a different venue this year due to the usual venue, Mildura, being damaged by flooding.
The Japan events are artificial grass.

Is Jubby injured? Hes had a v lean spell since his South American clay exploits last year and I imagine a lot of points will fall soon?

He has not entered any events in next few weeks so I guess he is injured.

Not a fan of these who know Wild Cards. Thats the 3rd or 4th time in Dubai thats happened, nearly as bad as the Leo Borg and Tsitsipas jnr ones.

Having said that would be nice to see a breakthrough result or two at a higher level doubtful though it is.
