Q1: APPLETON, Emily (GBR) 489 (CH=482 2022) v RUS.HITI, Arlinda (SUI) (9) 398 (CH=352 2023) 

Winner plays the top seed.

 

Sarah Beth Grey was above Emily in the acceptances and Matilda Mutavdzic just below but neither appear in the draw.

 

Edited to get past the censor's problem with Arlinda's name.

She served 12 double faults. She kept on serving low into the net.

What side does Emily play return on? Ranking and scheduling wise I've wondered for a while now if the two Em's should try a couple of events together.

 I can't remember. I didn't watch today, and can't remember the last time I saw her play doubles. She's partnered mainly Lily, Ali, Freya and Lissey amongst others over the last couple of years
