Just reading this whole thread for the first time. Excited to hear we have a seemingly good potential prospect coming up but obviously we'll have to wait and see (I'm also encouraged to see another Brazilian coming up behind Fonseca - I'd love to see the tour put a bigger event in Brazil to take advantage of all the excitement there....though Brazilians do seem to get around pretty well).
Mark Ceban has been spotted (Instagram) signing autographs in Monte Carlo. Wonder who he had a practice with!
Anyone else on here get some random autographs of potential future champions when they were young? This brings back memories for me of getting David Sherwood's autograph back in about 1998 when he won a junior match - just in case he ended up doing well.
That's the (equal) World Championship title (Les Petits As sort of share it jointly with Junior Orange Bowl)
It's the first English player, I believe, to have won the event since 1998
Andy Murray, Laura Robson, Dan Cox and Hannah Klugman have all been runners-up
But only Matt Smith managed to win it (beating Ancic)
Great tournament, Mark.
Great progress in the last year.
Great to watch, and enjoy some really good ball-hitting.
Ancic was a great talent and I believe works as a big deal in finance now (in london?)
and remind me who Matt Smith was ?
Wasn't it Ancic who spent about 6 years as the last man to beat Federer at Wimbledon while Rog won his 5 straight there? I seem to remember him having a career troubled with injuries.
Just had a quick looks at some video of him. Anyone else think some of the ways he hits his shots look pretty styled after Sir Andy? - How he sets up for serve and how he his his backhand etc....and maybe forehand too....maybe it was just the cap and hair he had in the clip I saw but that was my first thought

I thought Ancic was a lawyer now? Though he could of course still be working in finance as a lawyer.
