I'm pleased to see that Heather has made the draw. I got shouted down when I said this before but I think Heather could have a decent career in doubles over the next few years if she could find a regular partner. Sadly I fear her best years are behind her in singles but she's a brilliant doubles player and I think she thrives in a "team" atmosphere.

Not easy draws for either pair. Some of the opponents have won tournaments recently at International level, so these matches could go either way.
The next round could be interesting as well.

 I'm not shouting you down

I agree, I think Heather is very naturally suited to doubles - a little extra height would be good () but she's got great hands, good reflexes, sees the game well.....

And - importantly - I think that Heather is one of those players who does well when she's got a teammate - someone to give her positive energy, to make her smile, and keep on the front foot

I totally agree with all of that CD - especially the last paragraph.  She's such a sociable character and I think she struggles with the grind of singles week in week out with just her Mum to support her.   Also I'm sure it wasn't you who scoffed last time!!!

Oh good good that Heather is in the doubles, and brilliant also that Aiicia and Olivia are in a grand slam on their own ranking.

Heather and Danielle are down to play tomorrow at about 4:30 depending on the play (and weather permitting).

Oh Lissey

Blew two smashes in a row at 5-5 *30-30 final set (the second was tricky but the first was absolutely routine).

6-3 3-6 5-6*
