 Thank you Mr A!

why is it sometimes cutting and pasting from ones browser sometimes leaves a link other times not? I dont change how I do it and yet it is hit and miss how it leaves a link in the post ?

Ive also noticed Twitter seem to have stopped allowing one to copy a link to a tweet - there used to be a share symbol with an opportunity to copy to a different media but, at least on my iPhone, that has been subtly removed

In the wheelchair warm up:

Quads - Andy Lapthorne lost to his conqueror last week, Heath Davidson
Womens - Lucy Shuker lost to her Japanese second seeded opponent

Mens singles - Alfie Hewett avenged his loss to Spaargaren last week in 3 sets in the last 8 and then beat Gerard of Belgium in the last 4 and so is in the final; Gordon Reid maintained his return to form by beating De La Puente the 4th seed in the last 8 but then went down to 2nd seeded Tokito Oda in 3 sets in the semis.

So, Alfie plays Oda in the mens singles final; good week for both those Brits in the mens, particularly happy to see Gordon back on form again, he deserves success!

Alfie and Gordon also reach the mens doubles final and play Miki and Gerard tomorrow.

So two finals for Alfie in this big super series event and great warm up for the AO coming up next week

We have a champion, Alfie Hewett won the mens singles in the Melbourne Open, beating Oda 2 and 2.

Well done. A super series title is great anytime but just before a Slam.

Alfie and Gordon later withdrew from the doubles final.

Well done Alfie!

Womens - Lucy Shuker has a hard draw against Yui Kumiji , second seed.

Lucy plays with Dana Mathewson of the USA in doubles.

Mens singles - Alfie is top seed and plays Arai of Japan; he could play Gordon in last 8 - Reid plays Tom Egberink of NL. Ben Bartram is also in the draw and plays Japanese Takashi Sanada.

Good luck to all 5 Brits. If we can get 3 finals incl a title out of this lot, that would be excellent.

In the AO singles- mens played so far today:

Alfie won with bakery products
Gordon caused an upset in beating Egberink in 3 sets. Gordon plays Alfie in the last 8!
Ben almost won but lost in 3 sets. Good slam debut for him though.

Lucy and Andy play later
