General tennis statistics etc.

Thanks, Strongbow

I'm not that hot on stats but I really like the 'points to defend in the next couple of months' bit

Congrats to Emily App who has alredy blasted through hers from last year

Obviously, with no points from Wimbledon last year, overall the whole MD/quali level group should blast through last years too

But Anna, Naiktha, Eliz etc are looking dodgy. As is Maia.

Jodie and Harriet have big work to do - Jodie has nearly half her points coming off

Obviously Surbiton and Nottingham points have been ultra positive - and nicely shared out

Like the chart

I probably dont understand properly, so apologies in advance ! Sonay seems to have gained more points than she has lost, 25 percent more (81 v 64). Yet her ranking has obviously dropped enormously. Whats going on in her area of the rankings ? Are all the players in the 200 to 300 range having a storming summer ?!

Sonay was on 328 points in December 2022. She has dropped 80 points Dec. 22 to May 23. So the net 20 she has made in June isn't enough to get her back to her January ranking.

Wasnt sure where to post this, but it is a statistical question..

Is there any data for how often the player who wins the first point in a tiebreak wins the set?

Yes the table's points change is from 29/05/23 whereas the ranking position change is from 02/01/23.

This month Sonay is up from WR 277 on 29/05 to live ranked 264 for 26/06.

 Thank you smile

so from your snapshot, there is no correlation. We were having a discussion around this and opinion was divided.

If Jeff doesn't know (and like you, I have a feeling he might), then I'm pretty sure nobody else will know.
