KJT won world championships so I will vote for her. Being British we give too much prominence in things like SPOTY to runners up. Wouldn't happen in the US. Another thing......the Y on the end....shouldn't be awarding for a sort of career achievement like Broad or Dettori. And the Personality bit was always a red herring. Maybe time it went the same way as question of sport? And why not on Sunday evening any more?

I find this almost unwatchable now. Hardly any sporting action and painfully politically correct. Used to be one of highlights of year growing up.
BBC trying to connect with a younger audience is fine but dont alienate everyone else. Same with a Question of Sport which they absolutely ruined

I agree - mainly due to losing rights.
QofS has been ruined by format changes and the BBC's woke culture trying to promote equality, disability and lesser known sports rather than picking high profile sports people.

In fact the BBC has ruined sport hiding it behind red button or online and again electing to promote lesser sports...

I thought Alfie spoke very well, as did KJT, who I thought should have won, but would have been happy with Alfie winning. Odd to have another woman footballer after last year when they won the Euros. I did just look back at previous winners....apart from the obvious one of Bobby Moore, world cup, the other footballers who won, Gascoigne, Owen, Giggs, Beckham weren't part of England (or Wales) teams winning major tournaments, obviously. Though Man U won premier league in 2001 when DB won SPOTY. I guess some years are stronger than others but not only was this years list not strong it then went to someone who didn't win anything.
