Certainly very interesting stats from Emma. And points won on the respective second serves look to have been decisive on the day with Emma winning a very good 56% (15/27) second seve points, even with 6 DFs, as against a very low 20% (4/20) by Wickmayer.
It does have the look of certainly going for it and indeed while her second serve was still in more than her first - 78% (21/27) as against 62% she also managed the trick of winning a higher % of points when it did go in than she did on her first serve - 71% (15/21) as against 64%.
I suspect that that's a bit of an anomaly on the day that the second serve was not only more accurate but also won a higher % of points when even coming out about the same would have suggested very much going for that second serve.
Just looking to see what Emma has planned for the next few weeks. She doesn't seem to be playing next week but she is down for the WTA500 in Austria on Oct 3rd, the WTA250 in Romania on 10th and the WTA1000 in Mexico on the 17th.

She's also going on a busman's holiday to the Maldives at the end of October.
Hopefully all that slower loopy stuff has been well binned. But time has always been on her side to experiment and properly find her game, arguably even with different coaches although I have found all those changes a bit concerning. She's been talking very positively about the latest set-up so hopefully ...
