Not the best of draws . Im pretty sure Emma entered this to take advantage of her seeding which was done before her ranking is due to fall and had hoped to have a good run .
Fingers crossed Yastremska has one of her unforced error days and not her firing winners from all over the court days.

If Yastremska continues as she has been playing of late then this will be an easy win for Emma. No doubt because of Ukraine Yastremska appears to be totally disengaged in her recent matches.

Hopefully it will be ok but Chennai has a much weaker field and is a lot closer to her next tournament in Seoul.
Yastrzemska has lost 9 of her last 11 matches and Emma has at least won some first/second round matches. Im not convinced she will win but lets not pretend it isnt a good draw. It definitely is.

I think Emma should be able to win R1 and R2. From then on if it goes to form it should be seed 7, 4 and then 2 but on present form winning two rounds looks about right.

I am quite confident that Emma will do much better this Autumn. A title......hmmm maybe, but certainly a tournament or two where she gets beyond the "two wins" maximum she has managed all last year. If she hits the ground running in her first match, I see no reason why it cannot be here. Fingers crossed.
Interesting that Harriet has to qualify here, yet in the same level event in India Katie S is straight into the main draw.
Is there any explanation for that or just the quality of entries for each event.
Q2: DART, Harriet (GBR) (1) 88 (CH=84 2022) v FRIEDSAM, Anna-Lena (GER) (11) 201 (CH=45 2016)
Q2: BURRAGE, Jodie (GBR) (6) 141 =CH v VOEGELE, Stefanie (SUI) (12) 218 (CH=42 2013)
They met at the US Open last year with Stefaie winning 7-6(4) in the 3rd.
