A quick question for those that know these things.......

Can anyone ranked high enough turn up to enter qualies? For example some players are on the alt list but not qualies. If they fail to make the main draw can they still turn up for qualies anyway?

 In the womens itf at Monastir this week the No.1 seed in qualies had withdrawn 2 weeks previously. Abigail was ranked lower than her but got into the Main Draw so the top seed in qualies must have been a last minute alt

Players not on the qualifying list can sign in as an alt for qualifying to fill any spaces. They don't get automatic entry to qualifying if they are ranked ahead of those that are on the qualifying entry list.
