The only British pair to draw seeds are Beth and Lily, who get Muhammad and Shibahara [5]
None of the Brits could meet before the third round.

Going to take a while to sort out a post here, with seven matches and 28 players to look up.

They have managed to avoid most of the specialist doubles players in the draw (apart from Beth and Lily who have a terrible draw). Doubles rankings can be a bit misleading in events like this thugh as the top singles players join in.

Looks rainy this morning so I expect we'll have a late start.

I like the formatting here, TA, nice and clean!

Do we expect any of our womens doubles pairs to win their opening matches?

I heard on the radio yesterday that Naomi Broady is working with Asia Muhammad as a coach at the moment

Always hard to predict women's doubles at slams since quite a few singles players take part, and that isn't reflected in the combined rankings (which are doubles only).
I would hope that Lissey and Liv, Harriet and Heather and Vivian and Sam all have a good chance, but the other matches are hard to guess.

Bet365 has everybody bar Harriet and Heather as underdogs although Sam is 11/10 and Lissey+Liv is 6/5

Naomi and Asia have been friends for some time, so I'm not at all surprised at the working relationship.

Liv and Lissey bossing it so far. Lovely to see. Although as I type they've just had to save a break point, which they do nicely.

5-0*

Jodie just has no idea what to do on a doubles court. So many balls spoonfed to the net player.

0-4*

Liv and Lissey save a break point and take their third set point. 6-1 0-0*

Jodie and Eden get a break back 3-5*

Liv and Lissey don't consolidate their break, get broken, break back, save 3 set points, miss a game point, lose the set

6-1 4-6 0-0*

Lissey and Liv save break points 1-1* final set
