Charles Broom

Unless I'm much mistaken, Charlie has no dedicated thread, but probably deserves one following his decent form of late, so I thought I'd kick it off with his Dartmouth College (Ivy League, no less! smile ) tennis profile.  I must say, given its exalted status, I'd expect the College to know the difference between a county & someone's home town (presumably St Albans)!  This one from Baylor (Waco, TX) is slightly more recent.

Charlie is the 8th highest ranked player to not have played a main draw
ATP match - he will delete that record when he plays Billy later this week.

Interview with Charlie on the ATP site, thanks in no small part to his appearance in the United Cup.  smile

I see Charles is about to drop around 135 places in the rankings come next week. From around 300 to around 430 plus. That is a lot.

Yes, dropping the 69 points he won from last year qualifying and then reaching the final of the Nottingham Challenger. He beat Dan and Billy before losing the final to Jake in 3 sets.

He was awarded a Wimbledon MD WC on the back of that week.
