Week 20 - ATP Challenger 50 - Francavilla al Mare - Italy (clay)

Yes was thinking that maybe his best tactic might be to play more clay through the summer, theres going to be some great chances of challenger wins here rather than stacked grass court fields. Its obviously important he gets to the top 250 Im thinking

Given what we know about the British tennis stuffed shirt bodies Id say Billy wont get much of a look in due to his age and pathway. He doesnt have a Jack Draper background etc as well so Id imagine other less deserving cases will be prioritised. They dont like being made to look bad. Remember tennis in the UK is exceptionally elitist.

We shall see, I would like to be wrong here because he certainly deserves it.

Billy is certainly looking deserving of a Wimbledon qwc. But I would treat that as a bonus if and when it comes and just schedule clay tournaments in the meantime.

Managed to serve for the set but had to fight off two break points. Playing some good stuff from what I've seen. Good to see him back on the clay think it's his best surface.

Loses the second set and break point down in the first game of the final set

L16:  (WC) Francesco Maestrelli (ITA) WR 512 defeated Billy Harris WR 375 by 2-6 6-3 6-2  bleh

The wheels well & truly came off in that deciding set by the looks of it!  cry Maestrelli even served for the match at 5-0.

Thats a shame as Billy had a kind draw for this level of event - good experience and onwards!
