R2/L32: (1) Katie Swan WR 255 (CH 162 in October 2018) vs (WC) Maria Gabriela Rivera Corado (GUA) WR 1108 (CH 1104 in January)

Edited Rivera Corado's nationality. Wrong blue and white flag.

The scoreboard seems to have frozen now so I'm not sure what's going on - except Katie just lost her serve.

Peter too, the ITF site has RIVERA CORADO, Maria Gabriela down as from GUA (ie.Guatamalan)

I was really impressed with RIVERA CORADO's tennis in that match, she's a real natural. A fabulous service action, and seem to be able to retrieve any ball with one of a wide variety of shots. She lacks a little bit of power, and that's where Swan had the edge, but it was far from one-way traffic in the match. There were many entertaining rallies. Additionally, it seemed Swan was struggling a bit today, especially in the middle section of the match.

Sorry, I copied it from Indiana without checking. Now corrected.

A very wise choice by Katie to play here and it's really paying off.

I'll concede Guatemala and raise you that Katie is only through to the L16 so far. It was a 48 main draw.

One set all 1-6 6-1

Hope that the third set is a repeat of the second.

Yes, from BP against at *1-1 in the second set Katie's certainly got motoring. And has now broken at the start of the third set.

*1-0
