Andy now has a IW WC

15th tournament in a row he will enter with a WC. Must be a record. US Open the last time he didn't use one. Seven tournaments before that he used one also.

Wow, that is a stat. In the mid-80's now, he should at least be able to get into the ATP 250 events and Slams, guess we need to see him rise to the 50's for Masters events - although he is of course not playing the clay so he should have some events at Challenger level in due course which will give him DA's?

I'm not sure if he will play challenger events. Most of them are on Clay to start with.
After Miami
Wb 4/4     4 Clay 1 hard in Ecuador
WB 11/4  all Clay
Wb 18/4  all clay
wb 25/4   4 clay 1 hard in Mexico
wb 2/5    all clay
wb 9/5    all clay

Then he will be thinking about prep for Grass which starts a month later.

oh gosh, I hadnt realised there was nothing at all.

Perhaps we will see him turn up at the UKPL in April, just for some match play??! Unlikely but...

And hopefully we will see him play Surbiton, Nottingham, before Queens, Eastbourne and Wimbledon to ensure he is tight for Wimbledon?

I read that Andy will play Stuttgart w/c 6th June so not Nottingham

That would make sense, good to hear that. Hopefully Surbiton first to find his grass feet and maybe give that event some extra attention as well

Sonay up to 95 on the alternates list, after the withdrawal deadline but before automatic withdrawals. Last qualifying is now WR379.
Not going to make it.

Sonay now showing as 41st alt for Turkey with Freya 19th alt.

Sonay has withdrawn though she would have been up to 12th alt so might well have eventually got in. With her initial 25K title points counting she is on the Q list for the following week's Turkey 25K. Freya is now on the Q list for this week.

A bit unfair if Jack doesnt get one after three Challengers .

Didn't he get an unexpected one for Miami last year?

Depends on your definition of unexpected. The management company Jack is under runs the tournament so not completely out of left field.

I notice he hasn't entered Miami Qualifying this year even though his new ranking this week would have got him in. So might have a WC again?

He does. It was announced last week with the entry list

Looking at the two lists there are 4 remaining wild cards at Iw and 3 at Miami. There are players like a Nakashima, TK, Sock, Querrey all not yet in, Kevin Anderson.

Id imagine all of those and some others would naturally be above Jack for both events, management company pulling strings excepting of course. There are still 5 qualies wild cards in both events and I would imagine hed stand a much more likely chance of those if he wants them - and I would if I was him.

Moves from a couple of the potential top 500ers.

Charlie Broom is now in qualifying for the Monterrey Challenger and Jack Pennington-Jones is q 1st alt so every chance of getting into qualies as well.

I think Jack was training with Cam somewhere in USA. Might have been at TCU.

Sonay would actually have got into qualifying with a few places to spare if she hadn't withdrawn ( there's a Q direct acceptance at 991 ). Just shows how much the lists can change even after the withdrawal date and automatic withdrawals and often quite late on.

Though of course not something that she could have at all counted on so understandable not to travel for this week if not already in situ
