Sutton Premier Tier event starting on 15th August

A popular event with GB players, and with £2k to the winners it isn't surprising. There are also doubles and mixed events. Nice club to visit as well.

2/924 Jonathan Gray
3/1038 Alastair Gray

6/1296 Sean Hodkin
7/1415 Jack Gibbens
8/1520 George Houghton
9/1689 Adam Jones
(not certain who the #5 would have been

2/1358 Tiffany William
3 Emma Wilson
4 Nadia Rawson

Ali Grey is ranked above Billy and they are in the200s/300s, so where do these figures come from?

Actually, those rankings appear to be absolute ****. I don't know where the LTA got them from, but they usually post the ATP/WTA rankings OK, so I'm guilty of not checking them myself !

Is this not a previous years list?
This years event starts next week the 7th not the 15th.
No sign of Billy/Alastair even as withdrawn on the below.

OK, I didn't notice that the LTA site had changed the filter back to 2021 rather than 2022.Can you please delete all this wrong data.

I know what you mean, the addict, the ATP site often seems to have last year's matches and results, even on day 1 of the new event - I got all excited the other week when I saw that one of our players had had a great win - only for a few minutes later to realise it was 2021...... :::(((

But, to re-launch the Premier British Tour at Sutton, the quali draws are now out

competitions.lta.org.uk/sport/tournament/draw

Happy to see Joel Pierleoni in the draw, and I note Mukhtar Andu's name too - it's been a while since I've seen him around, so to speak

I lot of youngsters in the women's quali draw, which is not that surprising

I think you mean the LTA site, which as I should really know needs to be treated with caution !

I followed the same process as last week and clicked on the events tab, then mens singles - and got a totally different list of players. Hey ho.

Men
Oscar Weightman
Ryan Storrie
Brandon Murphy
Max Basing

Women
Freya Christie
Lauren Proctor
Alice Gillan
Holly Hutchinson

In the grade 2 at Jesmond (Newcastle) this week

Finals
Men
Fred Barnett (Q) v Benjamin Gusic-Wan (2007)

Womens final is a local affair
Emma Wilson [1] v Teodora Prisadnikova (2008)

Teodora has played 12 matches this week as she has also been competing in the Northumberland Open here in women's singles, which she is also playing the final tomorrow, women's doubles (lost to Emma tonight in the SF), 18U doubles (in the final tomorrow), mixed doubles (gave a w/o in the qf) and 18U singles where she gave a w/o in the final. Phew. I'm exhausted just typing all that out

Emma isn't far behind having played 11 matches this week in the W25, and at the Northumberland Open in the women's and mixed doubles as well as the BT singles matches, and having to travel from the other end of the country mid week as she returned from the W25.

At Sutton, the first round of qualis played yesterday.

Hardly ground-breaking stuff - it's only QR1 - but just to note that there were wins for Joel Pierleoni, Mukhtar Andu and Raffa Papajcik (who is Bob's new buddy )

USA's Lauren Proctor, WTA 750 or so, has entered the Sutton British Tour Premier event, which raises the level a bit.

Alice Gillan is second seed.

Millie Rajecki and Alicia Dudeney also make this promise to be a decent tableau

The 'big news' in the men's side is that Ryan Storrie is in the draw, and top seed

Rather like George Loffhagen, fingers crossed that the sudden reappearance, after so long, means that the poor bloke is now injury free and able to play....... rooting for you, Ryan.....

Brandon Murphy, just outside the top-1000 is second seed (although has drawn Billy Blaydes which is not easy - Billy is not easy to beat)

Lots of the 'normal slightly lower ranked crowd' are here

One name that jumps out at me is Hamish Stewart - rather JoMo like, or Toby, or Finn, Hamish is from the same sort of cohort, been doign well in the States, and a player I liked as a junior.

Rather cute to see George Coupland in the list too - way to go, George !

Ryan played county cup for Herts a couple of weeks ago, so as you say hopefully injury free

Seems unusual to me, but there have been five retirements in the first ten women's matches played so far today (and they started at 9:30, so can't be the heat !)

It is strange - all the completed matches are totally one sided results as well. Its like there is a conspiracy!
