Cassius Haye

This is one of these threads that might die a death - or be the one with most hits in 5 years time.

Cassius Haye is the son of David Haye, the British world champion boxer.

He's now 13, (born 2008), and a very serious young tennis player.

In the recent Tennis Europe U14 event in the Wirral, he lost in R1 but that was to the eventual winner - and Cassius was the only player to take him to three sets.

There's a nice article in The Sun:

I like David's comment:

"Its a nice sport, tennis. No punches to the head. Its a pleasant, healthy day out. No hooligans.

And Yannick Sinner has just done an interview with him and Hannah Klugman:

(it's a little hard-going, tbh, but hey....)

And because everyone loves a cool picture, here's the two of them at Wimbledon this year

Cool looking kid and I always liked David Haye, but Cassius Haye?! Ali would be laughing at that one!

Ps Jannik Sinner? The Jannik Sinner - thats cool that he does media stuff as well, seems like a decent chap as well!

Cassius used to play some tournaments that my Son ran. David Haye is a lovely guy according to him, very unassuming, time for everyone at the tournaments. I'll ask my Son how he rated Cassius.

So he says Cassius was decent but didn't really stand out. Different age group but the player that he says has stood out is Hugo but small.

The TE event was at Liverpool and not Wirral.
Seemed a nice lad. Watched his doubles match. He was OK, but didn't really stand out.

Son only does matchplay and rating tournaments up to 4.1 so the better players move on by 11/12 and so much can change as they mature. Also movement isn't quite so key when playing juniors.

Maybe say to his opponent " Have you seen the size of my dad ".... Oh And by the way he was world heavyweight boxing champion a few years back... might work ?

My Son was actually surprised by the size of him, said he expected him to be much bigger than he is.
