Ryan gets the second set 6-3. The Australian is not happy

Would be a really good scalp for Ryan if he can see this one through

All credit to O'Connell, who is really is annoyed about the level of line-calling, (and very foul-mouthed, for those who care) but has been a good sport.

The umpire called Ryan's ball out - which was clearly in - and Ryan looked completely bemused - and Chris gestured it was in.

So the umpire says, was I wrong Chris? Was the ball in? And Chris is, like, so you want me to call the lines now? What about the 10 bad calls I had where you didn't ask Ryan?

And the umpire says, so it was in?

Well, yes, it was so far in, but like all your calls, your call was wrong, says Chris.

So what do you want to do, asks the umpire, it was my call.

And Chris gives the point to Ryan..

And now the umpire is being condescending, saying 'at least you're being a good sport, well done' - I'm surprised Chris doesn't deck him, to be honest.

Wonderful match from Ryan P

Chris broke him twice at the end of the third set. And twice Ryan broke back.

The TB was ultra close - right to the end, where Ryan had an excellent balance of attack and defence, made a couple of super volleys (he's not good at the net, and he'd missed several earlier in the set), these were real clutch ones, he really committed, Chris made a bad UE, and then there it was, done and dusted, TB to Ryan 7-6(4)

Didnt watch any of this but that looks a decent win by Ryan. Been a really good 2nd half of the year from him. Hopefully with more to come this week.
