2022 British Tournaments

I wondered if anyone had any more detail on the planned ITF events or the grass challengers for next season? Timings or venues? Im keen to take my Dad to Ilkley and in the past tickets have been on sale by now. Presume plans still being made

There's mens and womens 25 in Shrewsbury in February. You can register interest at https://worldtennistourshrewsbury.com/ (link below map)

Cant find any further detail at the moment but there are 4 25Ks each for men and women in GB starting Jan 10 and then into Feb (not all consecutive weeks though).

This link is the ITF media announcement.

Thanks Brittak - yes, seems strange they are in weeks 2,4 and then 6 and 7. Having back to back weeks tended to be the norm or may even have been a requirement in the past, partly to create little blocks to presumably save money for travelling etc.

Good to see they are at 25k level as well - presumably nothing to indicate locations yet?

Not that I can find other than the Shrewsbury mention above

Maybe to try and dissuade overseas players from playing, allowing more opportunities for British players if the rules allow it probably for the best. A UK Pro League Tournament between ITFs would be perfect. However would need to be 6 days to allow for qualifying on the Sunday, or a Sunday to Saturday.

Maybe having the weeks split will help more Brits take part, rather than players flocking over from Europe !

Yeah, Madadman seems to think the same, may well be right. Presumably no one has seen anything from UKPL re their schedule for next year, if at all?

JonH - UKPL only wrote up the finals yesterday - you can't expect them to say anything about next year for a while yet !

Hopefully Sunderland W25 will return.

I enjoyed both of my visits there in 2019 and 2020, and without it, there's literally nothing between Glasgow (if that happens) and Ilkley in these parts. You also never do know when you might see a (very near) future grand slam champion smile

They've mentioned next year's tournament a few times (Sonay has already committed I believe).

The grass tournaments have been announced today. Just looks like same as last year. Nottingham, Birmingham, Queens, Eastbourne.

Still no 100k challengers
