Mandy Carreras is playing the girl who won Junior Wimbly this year. Think she likes a hard court.
Really impressed with her - although our Kylie Bilchev came SO close to beating her - one of the highlight matches of Wimbledon this year.
And Eden has the young whizz from Czechia (or one of the whizzes, one should say, as they have such a batch at the moment). Only 16. Racing up the adult rankings.
Q1: CARRERAS, Amanda (GBR) 442 lost to MINTEGI DEL OLMO, Ane (ESP) 450 3-6 1-6 Q1: SILVA, Eden (GBR) 456 lost to FRUHVIRTOVA, Linda (CZE) 5 335 6-4 6-7(6) [7-10] Q1: WEBLEY-SMITH, Emily (GBR) 589 lost to CERVINO RUIZ, Celia (ESP) 629 2-6 3-6
Apart from Sonay's win it has not been a good day today, 6 losses to just the one win.

I don't know much about Fruhvirtova, but that looks a good scoreline for Eden, despite losing.
Hope Lissey and Beth can even up the score a bit in the next few hours.
The last time this event was held (in 2019) it was a 60K event that Katy Dunne won beating Paola Badosa in straight sets in the final. Its crazy (and sad as a Katy fan) to think how their fortunes have differed since with Paola having an impressive surge up the rankings and qualifying for the WTA finals and poor Katys last 2 years+ have been marred by injury
All first round doubles matches are on the schedule today, three involving Brits on the same court (Eden, Ali and Em - Anna plays at the same time on another court)
