Wow. I'm surprised she got into this although it will be difficult. Given that this weeks 25k is cancelled I thoght she was hanging on for Austin rather than travel to and fro for a week. Big chance if she can take it
Tara and Emina don't "slum it" these days at ITF events if they can get into a WTA event. More money more points, if you get a decent draw. But I'm sure they've worked out the odds.

Too late guys Ive seen the draw. Madness to make such a trip for a doubles only venture when they are climbing the singles rankings. And given theyve drawn the top seeds even more so. Money wise its not really worth it either, very odd choice.

There is zero chance of Tara and Emina plus other British players like Sam, Beth, Eden, Alicia and Olivia ever reaching the Top 150 in singles-thus they will never make substantial amounts of money out of tennis nor play in Grand Slam singles main draws. There is some chance of any or all of them reaching the Top 50 in doubles and thus making substantial amounts out of tennis and playing in Grand Slam doubles events. They would all be well advised to concentrate on doubles.
The same Tara with the career high 145 singles ranking? Emina is also currently in Grand Slam singles qualification and about to take out her career high ranking.
Sam Murray has made way more money in singles than doubles and most of the others are near career high rankings. Think you need to maybe do a wee fact check there pal

I agree that they should take their chance in the doubles. As Bagel says, they aren't going to climb far up the rankings (I can't see Tara breaking into the top 200 again), although they can earn a little on the side whilst they play doubles.
As for this tournament, not a good draw, I admit, and they may well only collect the $1,750 as a pair. Given a better draw (and a win) it would still only be $2,300 but 60 points so financially dubious and the points aren't a great help (Tara's lowest counter is 50 I believe ?)

Tara and Emina (WR 120) are the exception rather than the rule - given that they get into WTA events and slams, Everybody else is getting ITF prize money which is not great even at W80 and W100. Below WR 150 it is very much a hand to mouth existence.
When she finally stops playing EWS should write a travel guide.
Edited to replace Avove with Below

Yes the very same Tara and Sam who have previously reached good heights in singles but won't do so again. The others may currently be near career highs in singles but have been playing for long enough to make me sure that they won't get high enough in singles to make money. Just because you don't like doubles definitely does not mean that all the above should not emphasise doubles! I suspect indeed that Tara and Emina may even know more about what is best for their tennis than you do, 'pal'!
