For me , last year Dan was my clear favourite across all players- Andys travails and efforts have bumped him up this year for me. I realise looking through , I didnt vote for one woman player apart from Fran in one early group, 1 out of 24 voting groups in total. Reflecting I realise I dont really support any of our women as a fan, just in general terms like to see them do well and probably Fran is that one step up given all shes had to battle against - but its not so much as a fan as a little bit more respect than the others.
In fact , Im general I realise there are only one or two players like Andy, Dan (in fact, thats it) that I get passionate about - the rest are a general muchness of wanting to see them do well, and pleased when they do. A higher lever of interest than non British players I guess is the general summary - where I will always support the British player when they play the non Brit , just because I want us to do well.
But maybe you get passionate about those two, Jon, because you've seen them play so much more than the others on TV?
It's hard to be 'passionate' about an ITF 15k player, say, if you basically never get to see them play live (even 'on tv' live).
You remember the amazing wins, the oh-so-close losses, and they mean so much more, if you've witnessed them firsthand.
I wanted Liam and Emma to be in the final because they were probably the two players who I'd enjoyed watching the most this year (Cam maybe should have been there too but the time difference was even more of a problem than NY and my Eurosport had expired so I only watched a little, on a small screen)

I think that is almost certainly a correct deduction CD! In general , i Watch tennis through Prime at your level and largely ATP level , or slams. and then through this board as my main back up. So your summary would neatly summarise that as an obvious outcome !
