 Yes, I'd noticed that it was an extremely weak qualifying draw, particularly for a 60K ( and indeed a MD that goes down a long way in the rankings ) 

There were just 7 seeds. 4 with WTA rankings ( 263 WC, 1330, 1414 and 1434 ) and 3 just with ITF rankings ( 977, 1178 and 2229 ). So they couldn't find an 8th seed with even an ITF ranking let alone the 16 seeds that the draw should have had in theory. There were just 17 entered in all so almost all the totally unranked players went straight to the FQR. That FQR contained a withdrawal, 3 double bagels, a 6-0 6-1, and the most competitive match was the one involving two totally unranked players. 

I do see that there is also a 25K and a 15K in the US this week.

Meanwhile, Emina has won the first 11 games against a qualifier, whilst Conny WR226 #1 has lost to te WC qualifier WR263 3 & 5

Kudos to Ibifuro Clement. She's only ever played two ITF Junior Grade 4 events (one win, two losses) and this was her second ITF match after her narrow qualifying win. She managed to break Tara's serve and then hold her own at the end of the first set when it looked like another double bagel (Tara was *5-0 after 18 minutes)
