Again, some fun play there, I know Daniel and like him, really pleased for the two of them. First set was terribly tight. But that's Ali's second title in a month or so.

Let's hope there's another tomorrow....

 NB 9.30, I think.

They've got the women's match first, so when that finishes.

Should be on livestream

Alastair missing rather too many first serves when it matter.

2-4*

Ali did a gorgeous drop shot off Beale's second serve - the sort of thing you normally only see in club tennis.

Beale was well miffed. And ended up getting broken (had a SP too, but double faulted)

*4-5

A really gritty first set by Alastair.

He wasn't serving as well as he'd like.

Beale was quite canny with hard hit returns to Gray's feet.

Moved him around well too.

But double faulted on his SP. And looked a bit edgy when he actually had a bit of momentum.

And Ali takes the first set in the tie-break, 7-6(4)

Alastair completes the double:

Three out of four ain't bad!  wink

Blinkin brilliant week for Alastair.

Beale played a pretty weak game in that final game - but Ali did really well because he was 3-0 up and then got pegged back, and could well have bot a bit agitated. But he didn't.

And that's a singles title. And a doubles title. In one week. At 25k level. How good is that?
