That's an interesting draw for Alan. Ricardas Berankis is only 15 (dob 21/6/1990) and currently unranked but he beat world number 408 Xin Yuan Yu in qualifying 6-4 6-0. Yu struggled a bit in the first round so he maybe a bit short of form but it is still a very fine achievement for a 15 year old to come through three rounds of Spanish qualifying without dropping a set.

This match will be a good test for two talented young players.

Great effort from both Alan and James to qualify here

James has a really tough match, his opponent is ranked 495 but it'll be good experience for him and interesting to see how close he gets.

Thereotically Alan could play James in rd2 here

Unfortunately both Alan and James lost in rd1, I had expected Alan's match to be quite a bit closer than that considering that his opponent is unranked, but a fantastic effort from James, taking a set off the 5th seed who's ranked nearly 700 places higher.

Rd1: C Rexach Itois [Esp][5] bt J Ward [GB] 6-7[2], 6-3, 6-2

R Berankis [Lith] bt A Wright [GB] 6-4, 6-1
