Interesting to see Ali recently back on the ITF scene playing doubles with some pretty decent partners.

This latest QF win adds 13 (net 12) points and will push her up into the doubles top 700 for the first time. I suspect much more to come if this is now a solid commitment.

She has seemed in the past quite an instinctive player, relatively comfortable at the net, so seemingly pretty well suited to doubles. I wonder if she still has singles aspirations and what these might be.

Yes, and she was coached by Nicola Slater for quite a while, I seem to remember, who was far more of a doubles player (not that a dubs player can't coach singles, of course)
I was wondering whether she was only doing doubles for health reasons? If she's been injured or whatever for some time?
Because it's weird at her age to be playing a 15k in dubs and not at least put yourself in for qualis.....

Real shame ::((

Ali and partner won the first set and were 3-1 up in their final, and playing really well, nice livestream.
But ended up losing the MTB....

FINAL: Ali Collins & Andrea Gamiz LOST TO Jang & Marinkovic 3-6 6-4 10-7

The 40 points from this week will replace a one pointer so net 39. Could take her into the top 600. biggrin

She will be one point behind Anna P. who is wr 586.
