Well Pliskova took over the reserve baton from Samsonova. Onto the quarter finals with the main baton and reserve baton meeting in the semi finals with the winner to play Emma Raducanu in the final. !. Well one can hope and dream can't one.

It would be a tough decision whether to shout for our baton holder or Emma in the final

The baton holder and the reserve baton holder meet in the semi final. Pliskova v. Sabalenka. The winner might play Angie Kerber in the final for the final baton holder. If Kerber can reach the final she will maintain a remarkable Wimbledon record. Starting in 1963 with Smith v. Moffat every subsequent ladies singles final has included a previous finalist with the exception of 1977. It looked sure to go with the no Halep, the Williams and Kvitova gone early. Of course Kerber could lose in the Semis but at least she did her best..

Anyway in the end it was 2 new finalists for the first time since 1977. Pliskova takes the baton to the final.

Yes I think Djoko like Ash is a big favourite for the baton and the other trophy as they both have more variety in their game than their opponents who seem to rely more a big serve.
