 Another dispiriting competition where none of our players even make it through qualifying unless they get a lucky loser spot. Pretty clear that W25 level is too high for some at this moment.

All doubles first round matches on the schedule for today.

The entry level for the singles is higher than usual - just three W25's in Europe for those not involved in Wimbledon, and a W60 in the USA. The Q8 seed who beat Emily is WR486 in the latest rankings (WR444 at entry) and the main draw cut-off was WR352. So I wasn't really expecting any of our girls to make it through qualifying - but the scores weren't very good.
