oh, heck, lovely and sunny up here in the north!

Lovely and sunny in the Wirral as well. The garden could actually do with some rain.

Broken twice from 40-15. Battling away but massively outclassed so far 2-6 *0-1

She had opportunities the last two weeks she really ought to have taken. The result of having to face much better opposition this week (and potentially next) shows just how important it is to make the most of them.

Tricky conditions. 3 breaks in a row then Harriet holds from 0-40 to go up 4-2* as Emmsie said.

Now 5-3*

Broken to 15, then saves a match point to get to a tiebreak. Goes 1-3* down, recovers to *5-4 and gets it when Rybakina goes long

2-6 7-6(5) *0-0

Wind is really swirling, ball moving about quite a bit and Rybakina started to get a bit messy.

Honestly these MTOs are a joke. Either retire or the other player can get some physio/massage at the same time

Harriet loses 6-4 in the third. Effort off the charts as always, did so well to get back to *4-4 deuce, but it never felt like it was going to go her way. Rybakina would sort of zone out for a couple of points and throw in a couple of sloppy errors to help Harriet out of trouble, but as soon as she tightened up she was pretty comfortable. It just felt even when it was a little tight Rybakina had more to pull out her locker.

Three 3 set losses so far on the grass, let's hope for some straight sets wins next week.

Heather has been staying with Swiatek up to *3-4, despite make a lot of errors. And her second double fault hands over the break.
