I think that win takes her into the GB top 10.

Emma's indeed now GB top 10. In fact she was going to be on 21/06, even if she hadn't struck a ball this week, due to points Mandy is dropping. But better to get there with her own flourish

28 points for reaching the QF has her now showing as live ranked 336 with 166 points from just 11 counters.

Babos is currently ranked at 112 - and Pironkova at 113. Keep going Emma, your ranking of 361 is looking totally false !

Babos is probably better on grass than that ranking and Pironkova certainly is. It is a fantastic scalp for Emma; one of her best results ever, and it will be very interesting to see how Emma gets on tomorrow. Pironkova came through in a long three setter, so her old Bulgarian legs might be a it achy tomorrow. Can't wait to watch it.

I wouldn't be so sure I remember Pironkova coming through successive long matches at her crazy US open run last year. Those legs are strong!

For the record, that was Emma's best ranking win. Her previous best was defeating Badosa 1 & 2 in W25 Bolton QF on 5 Apr 2019. Badosa was ranked 130 at the time.

I see Emma is on Court 2 at 11am tomorrow, along with 2 other women's QFs, so we should get to see it if the streams are the same as today. It's only top seed AVU vs her partner that is on Centre tomorrow (women's singles anyway).

Having just watched the weather forecast for today , I think we'll be lucky to get any tennis here or in Birmingham today. Emma's match has already been put back to not before 12.

I doubt f there will be anything at Queens today either - I also just watched the BBC forecast, and it looks like anywhere south of Liverpool and Leeds is in for a miserable day. Make the most of it JonH - heading your way on SUnday.
