That was tense at the end.

Cressey is a big guy, grasscourt game, forever pounding into the net, a big presence to get past.

Great win for Jay, should do him a lot of good

Luke and Aidan were leading in the first set tb. And a break up in the second.

But, hey, someone's got to win.

The college lads were very unlucky to lose the first set - or, at least, to get broken, which then led them to being broken.

On deciding game point, their ball was in but the linesman made a little noise, the umpire called hindrance, they had to replay the point and lost it.

To be fair, though, the other guys were slightly stronger. But they didn't deserve to get broken there. A TB would have been fair.

Tad and Finn losing the second set (also 3-6) was more as per the match - always slightly behind, slightly more tricky to hold serve.

However, they were playing the second seeds and posted a reasonable performance

Cracking doubles from our young pair.

6-3 6-4 to the 2002-ers

Both Arthur and Felix played really well in the singles, and in the doubles they were stellar together, and - really important - seemed to be really enjoying their tennis. Felix had great reflexes, picks up balls in a way that reminds you of Dan Evans in a way. And Arthur is very happy at the net.

Really enjoyed that match.

Jay & Thanasi have given their opponents a walkover, presumably because of an abdominal injury to the latter.
