Probably because they like Portugal, and not much choice this week apart from the usual ones - "been there, done that"

Lissey and Liv might stand a bit more chance in the doubles, they aren't ranked far below the fourth seeds - who they could meet in the QF's.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't...... If they only play W15k and don't venture out to compete at W25k there'll be comments about why they're only playing W15K at this stage in their career when their peers are playing W25

 Given that neither Freya or Alicia are amongst the LTA's "chosen few" at the moment they might be better off going  for some points.

It probably would have been better if Freya hadn't got a Lucky Loser spot. She has been destroyed by Hontama in just over an hour.
Despite making 17/21 (81%) first serves in the first set, she only won 7 points on serve. The second set was almost as bad ...... but she actually got a break when Hontama failed to serve out the match.

 It's a Catch-22 situation that their low ranking effectively excludes them from the grass court season missing the tournaments that they would be most likely to improve their rankings at.

 Alicia and Olivia have dubs as their priority. 25's offer many more points than 15's/

Lissey posted a pic on instagram with the caption "Ready for a good few weeks in Portugal"

Not certain if she meant a few good weeks or a good few weeks  wink

W25 points are 65,40,25, whereas W15 points are a mere 10,6,4

Lissey has 5 counters of 10 or 9 so good scope for improvement,
