A few years ago Freya was one of our most promising talents, she has never been the same since losing the marathon Wimbledon qualifying match a few years ago

Completely agree scottie.... :(

BUT, despite both our players being underdogs here (according to betting sites), I think Freya's going to win (and Alice too, why not).

This is Freya's match ! ,

Shall we go for a clean sweep and say Emilie too. What are the odds?

Love the optimism ! Yes, why not? smile

Freya is 2.1 v 1.66

Alice is 2 v 1.72

Emilie is 1.22 v 4

So, fine, all, a three-way !

(Although I might be tempted to go for 10p on Emilie's opponent, Astrid Cirotte - juniors are a little difficult to gauge in terms of ranking)

Alice's odds seem to follow their rankings, which is fine.

But Freya seems to me the big question - I know rankings are dodgy at the moment but she's better ranked than her opponent, who seems to favour clay, and hasn't done much of note (that I can see).

C'mon, Freya !

Mind, she was also better ranked than that 8/1 HK lady the other week, and that local player last week who was 1-8 this year (all at this venue) and lost 0 and 2 (or 2 and 0) to Beth 2/3 weeks ago, yet still beat Freya in straight sets. They've probably been stung once too many, ha.

 Oh, yes, 100%

I'm not saying the odds are wrong - they may even be too tight ! Freya has barely won a match at 1000 level in living memory, or so it seems.

BUT, the sun's shining, and I reckon today's the day biggrin

Seemingly the sun is shining where Lamis' supporters are too - Freya is now 2.37

Interesting !
Freya due on court very shortly, followed by Alice.
Looks like Emilie will play tomorrow. Curiously the ITF acceptance list shows haer as a late wothdrawal on 28th May, but she's still in the draw.

But 5-0 up in the second. I was gonna half jokingly say she is 5/1 or 6.00 at B365 (as soon as the first set ended) for those predicting a comeback. Both under 2.00 in the current in-play market.
