There is a 15 year old Nadine Araizar Martinez in the qualifying draw. The draw and her profile show Spanish, but live scores show a GB flag. Just an error, or is there some GB connection ?
Nadine is Spanish. She lived in England for a year for family reasons. She is the grand-daughter of footballer Emilio Arbiazar and daughter of Skier Cesar Arbaizar.
Not getting much luck is Amanda. The opponent won the W25 title last week from quals (hence the SE), including beating the Jr who put out Amanda. She played 8 matches, so maybe the matches might catch up, but you certainly wouldn't expect to be a 2/1+ underdog in R1 of a W15, as the top seed.

That's far better (I hope...). I guess not too surprising in hindsight, Masarova did play literally every day from Sun to Sun last week, made 67 points for her efforts, while here, she would be getting one point for a 300 odd R1 win. I have no idea how she is feeling physically, but perhaps she might have been more willing to give it a go had she drawn a WC or Q, rather than the top seed, even if she was considered the fave.
Hopefully Amanda can now take advantage of this and go on a bit of a run here. She is now 1/9, as opposed to 2/1 to get a R1 win, for what it's worth.
