Matilda Mutavdzic was on the acceptance list, but isn't in the draw.

Interesting to see Emily turn up here. I guess players are carefully planning around quarantine and travel restrictions.

I must be slow today. Emily is with Gaby Dabrowski, who is also entered in qualifying. Doubles may be interesting !

It is, but not for the reason you may expect. Beth is here, and her and Emily are playing together as the top seeds, and it also contains Lisa Raymond, who is paired with Allie Kiick who she coaches.

Emily and Beth is a sensible pairing to try and get some opportunities on the grass, although I've no idea how they will match-up together. Hopefully well of course!

Em led her singles *2-1 when the rain came. Expected back on court soon. The tournament is streaming a couple of courts on its website that may be interesting later in the week.

If and when Em starts her doubles she will add her 50th ranking score for the post RG 14/06 rankings thanks to her busy schedule and 50% of pre 2021 ITF scores still counting.

Her current lowest (11th) counter is 25 points.

I wondered what had hapoened to Beth, since she was down to play in Latvia this week. It could be an interesting pairing as they boyh have had a lot of success at this level. It does seem strange that Gaby is playing singles but not doubles though - perhaps she just wants a bresk before RG. She and Emily spent a lot of time together last week, not for the first time, so they must get on very well.

I'll go through the doubles draws this evening.

Em won the first set 6-4 but making slightly heavy weather of things.

She's 2/8 for break points, and now down 0-2 0-40*

Her opponent doesn't have much international pedigree but I still thought her being 40/1 at the start of the match was a bit excessive!

Em fought back in that game and broke to level, then broke again to go up *4-3, but now *4-5
