Naiktha has lost the first set 4-6

I was surprised that the score was that close (although Dodin was always in the lead, it wasn't really close as such).

More normal in the second set, with Dodin winning it 6-0

Strangely enough, the WTA site is stuck with the score at *3-2 in the first set. I wonder if they'll ever get that site to actually work properly.

A little shout out for 18 year-old French girl, Evita Ramirez, ranked 1376, who's barely played a single match of juniors, and who then put out the WTA top-250 player, Piéri ( #248 ) 3-6 6-4 7-6

There's a Germany player currently having a bit of a breakthrough week, Jule Niemeier. Currently 6-4 4-0 up in her QF match. She's reminded me a bit of Jodie for a while (they did actually play last year, in an unstreamed ITF match). Pretty much the same age, similar game, ranked in and around the same spots (or at least they were...), and they kind of look a little alike.

Quite nice to see largely unknowns have a potentially career changing week out of nowhere, although still work for her to do here. This is her 2nd match of the day, after beating Rogers earlier.
