British Tour 2021

According to this schedule, the Tour gets underway this coming week - anyone (TA?) know if this is actually happening?

Yes, as far as I know starting Wednesday in Nottingham. Top three marni banks, anna popescu, anna Brogan (marni went in as wc, late ?). Katarina who has been good in uk proleague was in but withdrew in last few days. Bottom end of list now has quite a few younger ones, juniors in. The draw hasn't been done yet. The week after it is Woking. Both are grade 2 events.

Link above is draw to womens event, can follow to get mens. First round wednesday.

But be patient....lta tournament software site seems to be very slow. Also to add Marni Banks wasnt in this one but in Woking next week, and Anna Popescu must have come out quite late. Top two seeds Anna Brogan and Emma Wilson.

Mens draw is out. Top seed is a Bosnian, 2nd seed a German and the 3rd a Kenyan. An interesting draw for a Grade 2 event.
The German appears to have played LTA events before going by his profile, so might be based here.

Many thanks, Spireman and Madadman, for the links - my normal LTA Tour page doesn't have them... (!?!)

Glad to see a nice range of girls playing, with lots of juniors, some quite high-ranking youngsters (like Tabitha Holmes, Mingge Xu, etc.) as well as Kat Barnes (after the Proleague appearance last week)...

Less names interesting for me in the men - although curious that the top two seeds are non-Brits (it's unusual at Tour level). I'll watch Phoenix Weir's results, after Tennisdad (think that's his name) highlighting his form in juniors recently. And Yujiro Onuma.

Congrats to Matt Doe who beat a player from Kenya, ATP ranked 1462

And beat him in style too, 6-2 6-1

Young Phoenix (age 15) got a win but young Yujiro (age 16) lost out in a MTB.

After Matt Doe yesterday, some more excellent wins over ATP ranked players for our lads:

Major congratulations to Josef Southcombe who defeated Aziz Kijametovic [1] ATP 822

Louis Bowden also defeated Adam Jones, ATP 2016, 6-2 6-2

And major hats off to young Phoenix Weir, age 15, who defeated Lasse Muscheites [2] ATP 1245, 6-7(4)6-413-11 - which sounds a huge marathon !

Great for their confidence, and experience, to get ATP wins.

Wasnt Josef Southcombe on the University of the Pacific roster as a Freshman 2018? Hes not on the roster now, so must have left...

Out of interest, is there a planned British tour points table this year and associated Masters week? The calendar doesnt say anything about that and , to be fair, doesnt go out to the end of the year.

Not sure. I assume he's the older brother of Mattias Southcombe (similar sort of first names) but not too sure about that either

Just been off to look as Louis Bowden was a new name to me and seemingly he's born 2004 and never played ITF juniors?

Isabelle Lacy, born 2006, is also into the semis (along with Anna Brogan, Kat Barnes and Emma Wilson)
