Missed this but well done Dan!! A last 16 place in another Masters, not bad...and a free hit against Zverev (who he might just frustrate?!)

Got to think there is a chance in all 3 of the doubles matches, a decent chance, although Jamie and Bruno may struggle against a very experienced pairing.

Make that none out of three:

L28:  Alexander Bublik & Cristian Garín (KAZ/CHI) CR 304 (97+207) defeated (5) Rajeev Ram (USA) & Joe Salisbury CR 25 (13+12) by 7-6(5) 7-5  bleh

They have played once with Dan winning although that was a long time ago. They do have very similar records this year though, could go either way.

Joe and Rajeev lost their doubles opener. Not the best week in Madrid for doubles teams.

Once again, I hope for low slices with venom which will drive the giant Zverev crazy.

Nadal beat Popyrin 6-3 6-3, and so lies in wait in the QF once Dan sees off Zverev

Not like Isner to win a match without having a single BP ( or indeed getting past 30 on return ), sealing the match with his 29th ace.

He beat Rublev 7-6(4) 3-6 7-6(4)

I don't like to watch servebots but don't mind them being out there with the different challenge they bring. The very best find a way to overcome them.

Interesting generally to see how the clay form is not going quite as many expected though - Dan and Cam, obviously, but others like Isner are proving you dont have to to be a Latin American dirtballer to win on this stuff.

Like you, dont like Isner for several reasons, but do like to see the different styles they bring

 Andy's record against Isner 8-0
